Earlier this month, Muffin became suddenly ill and was rushed to emergency care, where she was diagnosed with acute-on-chronic kidney disease. For several days, her condition was critical and uncertain, requiring 24-hour monitoring, fluids, and medication. After a very scary stretch, she began to turn a corner, and I’m incredibly grateful to share that she’s now stable and at home recovering.
After 13 years, Muffin has carried me through instability and been my constant. She is the embodiment of pure love, and is the sweetest, gentlest cat. Even people who don’t like cats love her.
The cost of her care quickly exceeded anything I could have prepared for. I’m deeply thankful to my dear friend Terra, who took it upon herself to organize a GoFundMe to help support Muffin’s recovery.
